Sanyo Applaud z06 is marketed as an ultra abrasion resistant line; so much in fact it claims to surpass fluorocarbons.

Out of the Box

The initial feel of the line is stiff for a 10LB line. The super unscientific test of hardness by trying to break the line with my teeth shows the line is incredibly hard for a mono. For comparison biting a piece of P-Line CXX (12LB)

proved to be easier. The curl straight off of the spool is very minimal. Cutting off an exactly one foot section of line the span was five inches; what this information immediately tells you, I have no idea. The color is similar to Suffix Advance Green but with a tint of aqua and a

little bit lighter, I imagine this will work well in very clear water which makes sense considering this line is marketed to fishermen in Japan fishing crystal clear water in the mountains for very line sensitive trout. Surprisingly the diameter of this “ultra abrasion resistant” is thinner than your average nylon. The spool marks every 100M and my Steez CT took every bit of it with room to hold a little bit more. While I couldn’t find

a exact diameter of the line the CT is marketed to hold 100M of 8LB.
